Μεγάλη επιτυχία σημειώνει και φέτος το Μουσικό Φεστιβάλ που διωργανώνει η "ΜΑΚΡΥΓΙΑΛΟΣ ΤΟΥΡΙΣΤΙΚΗ Α.Ε" του κ. Gunnar Strømsholm.

Το φινάλε του φεστιβάλ θα δωθεί αύριο 23 Ιουνίου, στο αμφιθέατρο του ξενοδοχείου "ΜΙΚΡΗ ΠΟΛΗ", στη παραλία της Λαγκούφας, του Μακρύ Γιαλού.

Με τη συμετοχή Ευρωπαίων μουσικών, και το Κρητικό συνκρότημα του Στέλιου Πατεράκη και του Γιώργου Μανωλάκη.

Αξίζουν θερμά συνχαρητήρια στούς διωργανωτές και σε όσους εργάστηκαν για την πραγματοποίηση του.

Όλοι είστε καλεσμένοι στο επόμενο Μουσικό Φεστιβάλ που θα γίνει από 18 - 22 Ιουνίου 2010.

SUMMER 2008 ENTERTAINMENT ORGANISED BY MAKRI GIALOS COUNCIL

Agios Stephanos Festival

Last night the festival at Agios Stephanos was a huge success. At least 200 hundred people attended the festival, and were all entertained by traditional Cretan music. There was lots of dancing and everybody said it was an excellent night, which carried on until the early hours of the morning.

The Makri Gialos Council has also organised many other events for the month of August.

2 August - Beach Party
With famous Greek singer Natalia Germanou. Starting at 9pm at the Makri Gialos harbour.

3 August - A Happy Night With Clowns
Entertainment for children at 7pm at the Makri Gialos harbour.

7 August - Traditional Tastes and Music
A night of Cretan folklore and music at 8pm at the Makri Gialos harbour.

9 August - A night for young people
A music night with a mixture of Greek, Hip Hop and Pop music at 7pm at the Makri Gialos harbour.

17 August - Big Greek Music Concert
Greek music with the very popular Greek singers Giorgos Ydraios and Sofia Michailidi at the National Park at Koutsouras at 9pm.

Having attended the Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival each year I can thoroughly recommend this event. There is a wide variety of music which should suit every taste and the atmosphere, whether the event is held at Casa dei Mezzo, Makri Yialos Harbour or Villea Village Hotel, is magical. People come from far and wide to attend these concerts and it really is an event not to be missed.

Pefki Gorge by feet 2 + 2 hrs up and down, from Aspros Potamos.
Perivoloakia Gorge, 15 min drive and then 2 + 2 hrs byfeet.
Dasaki Gorge (Butterfly) 10 min drive then 2 hrs walk

Xerokambos beach 1 Hr drive to the east.

Tranditional mountain villages of : Agios Stefanos,
Pefki, Lithines, Pervolakia, Stavrochori, Oreino, Shinokapsala, Agios Ioannis,
Chrisopigi, Dafni, Kato Krya, Bebonas, Papagianades, Armenoi, Chandras, Ziros, Agia Triada from 5-20 min drive.
New villages by the coast: Lagada, Kalo Nero,
Goudouras to the east, and to the west: Koutsouras, Mavros Kolibos, Achlia, Galini, Agia Fotia, Ferma, and Koutsounari. From 5-15 min drive.

ATENTION 1. You also can find in maps etc. different spellings of our town like;

Makrigialos, Markygialos, Macrialos, Makri Gialos, Makrys Gialos, Makriyialos, Makriyalos, Makri Yalos etc.

But the correct way is into two words, (Μακρύ-Γιαλός in Greek) "Makry-Gialos".

ΑΤΕNΤΙΟΝ 2 :
Before you book a hotel or a apartment.
Make sure that is in Makry-Gialos, Crete.
Because also with the same name called as well many more places in mainland Greece and other Greek Islands.They are few Internet booking sites with this mistake as well.
