We would just like to say thank you so much It is always a pleasure to stay at Olympio

This time we stayed in the Mikri Poli Very nice place, and a good offer for families because of the faciiities with swimmingpools etc They also make a long season, longer than Sun Ving, which means they close by the end of October A lot of people think this is to late to go on holiday to Crete Listen, the month called October is one of the best months of the year We have been here several times in this period So next year we will arrive for our first trip in 2009 in Makrigialos at the beginning of April A wonderful time Fresh and beutiful with a lot of flowers and for sure this time also for October Makrigialos is the best place for sure But we also recommend everybody staying at Mikri Poli or in Sun Ving to take a visit down to the harbour and Makrigialos old village area It is down here you will find the real greek atmosphere You will always meet friendly people down here and everywhere in Makrigialos

About Makry-Gialos village.

If you want to avoid manicured resorts, like getting away from it all (but not too far), and dislike crowds on holiday, then Makry-Gialos is the place for you.
It's a very special place, peaceful and unhurried, surrounded by some inspiring untouched countryside.

ATENTION 1. You also can find in maps etc. different spellings of our town like;

Makrigialos, Markygialos, Macrialos, Makri Gialos, Makrys Gialos, Makriyialos, Makriyalos, Makri Yalos etc.

But the correct way is into two words, (Μακρύ-Γιαλός in Greek) "Makry-Gialos".

ΑΤΕNΤΙΟΝ 2 :
Before you book a hotel or a apartment.
Make sure that is in Makry-Gialos, Crete.
Because also with the same name called as well many more places in mainland Greece and other Greek Islands.They are few Internet booking sites with this mistake as well.
